Tycho Brahe (1545-1601)

Updated: Aug 30, 2019

Tycho Brahe took the bold step of vastly improving the astronomical observations available in his day. This excellent data was used by Johannes Kepler (1571-1630) to precisely calculate the orbits of the planets around the Sun and to establish Kepler's laws of planetary motion - which are exquisite in my opinion. Based on Kepler's rigorous mathematical descriptions of the solar planetary orbits, accurate predictions on location in the sky could be made several decades into the future.

p.s. More on this and other wonderful topics in physics and humanity soon after I finish some more set-up chores with this new website which was started on August 17, 2019. Thanks for visiting and welcome back to explore and ponder! - Tom the Admin, August 24, 2019
